Like Van Gogh's sky.

Your name is written upon my heart
What more of me would you ask?
I carry you every place I go
And see your face in stars.
Now this is what I ask of you:
to stir the eyes
that see every day as new
as rain--
the dewy,
gentle,
kissing kind.
As sunshine droplets
and candy trees,
fountains that pour music,
statuary that giggle.
Ice cream cones that drip my name
upon the concrete
in swirls and flourishes
like Van Gogh's sky.
Cry with me
this once
and never will I wish you cry
again.

What the hell am I doing up at this hour? Oh yes, apparently I'm up whenever you are. How is that fair? :P And writing poems of you, no less. Consider my iPod as drowning in the East River until further notice. ;-)

You're breaking my heart Ms. Jichetti.
Well done, and don't sacrafice the iPod yet. I'm glad you are writing poetry.

Sorry dude; pass the beer. The iPod is safe, I promise you, though on probation. Got anything upbeat to send me? I'm glad I'm writing poetry, too. I think. Maybe.
I don't know; this one stirred me out of a sound sleep at 4:45 this morning and clenched its fingers around my throat until I turned on the muse and started typing. My mind is a strange and dangerous place. More beer, please.

I miss you too, Jill! I'm as out of touch these days as you've been... so I hope we can connect again soon.

Beautiful. But I'm left not knowing whether the cry is sad or happy.

The photo certainly fits the poem and I like the imagery... very soothing and a lovely flow to the piece.
And I can understand being up at strange hours and writing... you never know when inspiration strikes.
